Chicago Events – Hot Dog Festival at the History Museum

Chicago-style hot dogs – otherwise known as a Red Hot – features an all-beef frankfurter on a poppy seed bun, with all the trimmings: yellow mustard, white onions, sweet pickle relish, a dill pickle spear, tomato (slices or wedge), pickled sport peppers, and a dash of celery salt. Ketchup? No thank you. Tomato sauce does not make the cut. Try out all the hot dogs you can dream of at the Chicago Hot Dog Fest, a free food festival serving exclusively all-beef hot dogs. Happening this weekend August 5-7, this easygoing event includes live music, engaging speakers, and fun activities for the kids – including face painting, bounce houses, rides, and crafts. A number of Chicago dog dealers will be on hand serving up hot dogs at the fest, including:

  • Byron’s Hot Dogs
  • Fatso’s Last Stand
  • Flashy’s Hot Dogs
  • Cooker’s Red Hots
  • Frannie’s Beef and Catering
  • Wiener Take All
  • Edzo’s
  • Dog House Grill
  • … and many more!
