Things to Do in Chicago – Christmas Around the World Exhibition

Explore a world of holiday magic at the Museum of Science and Industry’s annual “Christmas Around the World” exhibition. Showing now through January 3, this festive exhibit features dozens of decorated, illuminated trees from countries far and wide. The global exhibition was originally launched in 1942 as a wartime tribute to the countries who fought alongside American soldiers overseas. Today, it is a beloved local tradition. Decorated by volunteers from Chicago’s ethnic communities, the holiday trees showcase a diverse variety of customs and cultures. You’ll also find live performances by school choral groups and dance presentations throughout the month. Christmas Around the World is open daily from 9:30 am to 4 pm and can be found in the museum’s main level rotunda.
