Chicago Theatre

Chicago TheaterThe grandeur of the Chicago Theatre leaves you breathless. The elegant lobby, majestic staircase and beautiful auditorium, with murals above the stage and on the ceiling, are components of “the Wonder Theatre of the World.” Now playing is Shear Madness, an enormously popular and hilarious whodunit set in a unisex hair salon that is the scene of a wacky murder. The award-wining comedy is filled with spontaneous humor and is different each performance (until 9/1/2007). 175 N. State St. (312) 462-6363; www.thechicagotheatre.com.

My 12 year old daughter and I just returned from seeing Wicked. We both loved it!! The actors were fantastic and Elphaba (in particular) has an incredible voice. The special effects in this musical are not as fantastic as some we have seen but the performances were fun and very engaging. A trip to the Oriental Theater is well worth it in itself as it is gorgeous!

Mama Mia is fun. The end was a little too much encore for me, but I was glad to have seen it.
