Take the Kids Out – Chicago Children’s Museum

Bring the kids to the Windy City for your next getaway and discover a world of fun at the Chicago Children’s Museum! Spread across three exciting floors, the museum has a wide range of exhibits and activities that children of all ages will love. Mixing recreational activities with educational content, kids can learn about science, art, and health while having a great time.

With almost a dozen different experiences to explore, the museum provides endless hours of entertainment and things to do with kids. Highlights of the museum include the Dinosaur Expedition, an interactive exhibit on fossils and archeology, KidsTown, featuring a miniature version of Chicago, and Play It Safe, a replica firehouse for kids that teaches safety tips to children and adults. There are even opportunities for toddlers to have fun at the Pritzker Playspace that is designed specifically with the little ones in mind. Creative kids will enjoy the Kraft Artabounds Studio that offers daily workshops where you can paint, sculpt and draw to your heart’s content.

Situated in one of Chicago’s favorite destinations, the Navy Pier along the waterfront, the Chicago Children’s Museum is conveniently located just a short distance from our hotel in River North. The museum is open seven days a week, and admission is $14 for adults and children. For an even better deal, families should visit on Target Thursdays, when every Thursday from 5pm to 8pm, the museum is open for later hours and free to everyone. Keep an eye out on their calendar for other special events throughout the year.
